It’s a game-changer for efficiency, simplicity, and time-saving, but it’s not without its quirks.
Let’s break it down:
HTM is widely used by:
✔️ Experienced soap-makers who want to streamline their process and reduce overall soap-making time.
✔️ Small-batch soap makers who prefer a more energy-efficient method without extra heating.
✔️ Soap-makers who work with butters and solid oils that melt easily under moderate heat.
✔️ Anyone looking to simplify cold process soap-making without using a stove or microwave.
However, beginners can also try this method—with a little patience and attention to detail.
HTM eliminates the need to preheat oils and butters separately. Instead, you rely on the heat from the lye solution (which naturally gets hot when mixed with water) to melt your hard oils and butters. Once everything is properly combined, you can proceed with the usual cold process steps.
